At The Carmel School, we believe that a strong academic foundation is essential for lifelong success. Our curriculum is designed to challenge and support students, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and character development. Small class sizes, dedicated faculty, and a personalized approach to education create an environment where every student can thrive.

Our fully licensed Preschool program caters to both three and four-year-olds.

Children in Preschool must be 3 years old by June 1st of their enrollment year.

Our four major goals that guide our Preschoolers’ growth are:

  • To love God
  • To love each other
  • To love ourselves
  • To love school (and all within it)

Highlights of our Preschool

Our preschool program focuses on building a strong foundation for learning, meeting each child where they are. Classes are divided accordingly to ensure that each child's needs are addressed. Core learning is completed before 11 a.m. each day, and our program emphasizes the development of both academic and social skills.

  • Language Arts: We focus on letter and sound recognition, handwriting, sight words (for advanced learners), and vocabulary words. These components are key to building literacy skills in our young learners.

  • Mathematics: In preschool, we focus on number recognition and formation up to 20, as well as counting by ones, fives (advanced learners), and tens (advanced learners) to 100. We explore topics such as shapes, colors, position words, comparing, patterns, and measurement.

  • Specials: Preschoolers participate in one 30-minute special per day, which includes subjects like art, music, physical education, and library.

  • Homework: Weekly homework is assigned to promote the home/school connection while strengthening the skills taught in the classroom. Homework is graded and designed to foster responsibility.

Preschool Schedule
